I've been mining for bitcoins and I have been getting some, but not as much as I thought I would. Is this normal or is it going slow for me? I'm a little new to mining so I'm not so smart on it.
I'm using GUIMiner and in Slush's Pool server. I have a Sapphire Radeon 7870 OC and I get a usual 400-420 Mhash/s, I mine for most of the day and I have been mining for almost a week. So far I have 0.05468046 BTC.
Any info is appreciated, thanks.
Yeah that is about right. It takes ages to mine solo and get a real reward unless you are running a dedicated mining rig 24/7. Also, you would need to run it for more than 12hours a day to see a reward in the near future.
Are you using PPS or PPLNS? Beccause that would help explain it. :)
Note that 0.054BTC is around 5 dollars at the time of writing. Mining on a single gpu isn't AS rewarding any more (at least not in my eyes), but some people do it anyway :)
