Mini PC Question

Ok my brother is planing to get a PC to do homework on and browse the internet. I'm planing to get him an BeagleBone Black http://beagleboard.org/Products/BeagleBone%20Black it's a very small,and cheap computer(it,s like a more powerful version of raspberry pi) that I think is good for him. The problem is that it only comes with a micro hdmi port witch I do not have a screen with that. Do you know what is the best way to convert(if I can) to vga male. Also,I do not know if the computer's micro hdmi is male or female.P.S If you guys have any other recommendations for a computer more powerful for about the same price I will gladly accept.

if he's not doing things like programing on it and hacking it, i would say buy one with a chassis. they do make micro hdmi to hdmi, and hdmi to vga, but that seems inefficient.
