Mini ITX AM3 Motherboard

Sup,

I was thinking about building a new PC that had a small form factor. I was wondering if you magnificent people knew any good AM3+ motherboards that are also in the compact Mini ITX form factor. I would prefer it to have a PCI-E 3 slot but any variation of PCI-E would be ok. That is all.

Rock on.

SwarmEngine

I don't even know of any AM3+ miniITX boards.

a pci-e 3.0 slot doesnt exist yet on a am3 board, but comming soon.

and i guess there arent any it-X boards for am3.+ not as far as i know.

micro atx there are a few of them but not with 970 or  990 chipsets, so thats sucks :

Neither of those options exist for AMD socket AM3+. PCI-e 3.0 only exists on one AMD board, and it's not been oficially released yet. Look at the premium Asus line of boards in a couple months.

i know, only the sabbertooth gen 3, previeuw says it has pci-e 3.0

Here is a cuple of amd M-ITX mobos

Two of those are socket AM3, not AM3+, two are socket FM2, and two are fully integrated. Not exactly what the thread was asking for.

And if I recall properly, it's a bit of a cheat to get that because it basically smushes two PCI-e 2.0 x16 buses together to make a single PCI-e 3.0 x16 bus. Which is cool, but it means that you can only use PCI-e 3.0 on one slot because the AMD chips just don't have enough PCI express bus lanes to handle more than one PCI-e 3.0 x16 lane. But it is awefully convenient if you just want one absolutely beastly card to overclock to death. Because I think a 7990 ought to actually benefit from the increased bandwidth.

I dont think there are eny am3+ not that ive seen enyway

no there arent.

i personaly think thats has something to do with the amough of power a am3+ cpu asks.

I am also unsure of why they haven't made any, although I'm more prone to suspect that it is due to the size of the CPU cooler bracket. The thing is huge.

Yes that can also be a reason.

But personaly i think its just like i said above, the amough of power a AM3+ FX cpu asks.

especialy the FX8150 FX8320 FX8350. they are realy power hungry.

and i think its just not possible, or to expensive, to put the good components, that can deliver so much power (over enough phases) to the cpu needs, on such a small board.

there isnt enough space, and it will produce to much heat.

maybe thats why there arent much micro AM3+ boards, there are a few, but mostley with max tdp of 95 W, 760 chipsets,  they realy arent made for the more power hungry FX8350´s
