I have this minecraft server (MCSteelcraft) that is just started out. But for most of the 2 weeks that we had the server we have been crapping around with TNT. Now im geting serious about it and we need some help. I got a new map and built spawn and a few other things. Now I need some people to come help with plugins and mostly ranks. If you help do this you get a full rank on the server. If you go do this and do a good job you get some of the monthly profet when we get the server up and can pay our bills. you do realize that making profit off a minecraft server is extremely difficult. there are tons of servers vying for a finite playerbase. unless you have an extremely unique and popular server, you probably won't even be able to break even.
I was a co-owner on a server for 6 mos or so till it shut down case we had no $$$ to pay server bills. we never even broke even, our other owner put about $100 into it, and we still failed.
We have are goal is to break even. But we know it will be tough, but we are determined to do. I did not wake up one morning and say I'm going to make a minecraft server. I planed it for months before a payed the first hosting bill. But here our plugin manager backed out the last minute and we have been waiting 2 weeks to get a new one. We have 2 co owners and 3 admins on staff and we are ready had 25 people already come on and 5 regally playing every 2 days or so. But I want to here about your server.
well, I was the plugin manager for a server. the community was pretty old, from wayyy back in alpha. recently we had troubles wit ownership a couple time, the staff probs, and then the server pretty much died out. we were the #1 server at one time, or so I've been told, but alas, it didn't last. we couldn't get enough players to donate, or even play. i feel that it all came down to inexperienced management, including myself.

It sounds like the owner just said lets make a minecraft server one day. But how did you do with plugins. Did you get good ranks up.
ranks are pretty easy, and the last owner was a long time admin. the server was around since 1.6 beta, until just like a month ago. some plugins were troublesome, others not so much
