Mikrotik l2 mtu

I am trouibleshooting some packet loss. And I noticed mikrotike has l2 mtu and normal mtu. I have normal set to 1500 and wondering what I should set l2 to? l2 is set to 2028 by default it seems.

The default should be fine, it just needs to be large enough to support the IP MTU (1500) + optional feature overhead (VLAN, etc.). I can’t imagine 2028 not being large enough (my RB3011 is chugging along with 1598 set), unless your client is trying to use jumbo frames.
