Mid/Higher Budget Build

I will soon be building my highest budget build, about $1,800 for my Dad pretty soon and would like some part advice since I have never had such a budget. I don't know what to buy with all this money!

It will be primarily for gaming and work on the side.

He would like it to be quiet as well as Black and Green.

He also wants two monitors, and I have never done that before, is there anything I should know?

Key Board and mouse are not needed, but an OS is.

Thanks in advance!

This is pretty beastmode... dual IPS monitors, Xeon, Z87 chipset, EVGA 780 Classified, Seasonic PSU...

Right around $1800, and there's plenty of fat to trim if you want it under budget

This is a pretty decent build. I tried to stick with your Black/Green scheme, and i took into account your request for low noise.  the cooler is decently quiet, and the fan on the PSU doesn't even start up until mi-high loads. all hat inside the Define R4, which is very quiet, and has sound dampening material all over.

i left out a dvd drive, i would assume you could loan/use an old drive for the OS install. if not, you can get one for $15. also, i left out monitors, but left $400+ to go towards them. i would suggest:

-1 TN monitor (for gaming)

-1IPS monitor (for work/watching videos/movies)

i only say that if your dad likes First Person shooters, as a good gaming monitor will have low input lag (like my BenQ RL2455HM, which i love).

if FPS are not his type of games, might as well get both IPS. i implore you to ask upon some others for info on a good set of monitors. perhaps even consider getting a 120/144Hz monitor for the gaming one.

hope i could help =)

Oh, and i chose the windowed version of the R4 case, to show off the black/Green motherboard ;) if you wanted a little better silent performance, you could opt for the one with no window (it is $10 cheaper)

I get you were trying to stick with the color scheme... but I'd never recommend a Gigabyte mobo... I originally started picking out parts with the color scheme in mind and noticed I was leaving performance on the table so the damn thing would be green.... so I quit trying to and got the Define R4 without a window.... there... it's Black :)

yeah, that is understandable. if it were me, personally, i would have gone with an arc midi R2, and one of the Asus Maximus VI boards. but yeah, i was just trying to adhere to his requests.
