I have contacted Nvidia Support Multiple times to help fix the stutter in games like Witcher 3 and Metal Gear Solid V, but no solution has worked. I changed Nvidia Control Panel settings twice, Updated BIOS, and used DDU to uninstall drivers to reinstall them. I have a Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme edition card, I upgraded from my EVGA GTX 780 ACX Superclocked card, and the problem was the same in the Witcher 3. Could it be my recent Upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10?
Have you looked at your frame rate with fraps? If you have a constant frame rate being reported by fraps, it may be a V-Sync issue. How bad is the stuttering, if fraps is also showing you wild numbers?
I the dips in frame rate are quite noticeable, from smooth to pause, smooth, pause, smooth, pause, etc. I turned vsync off entirely, still no solution, but a bunch of screen tearing.
is it a consistent stutter?? ie it occurs at exact intervals, or is it random/staggered.
Yes it occurs in exact intervals. I even turn my settings down, it didn't help.
