I feel like Microsoft stayed off of the tablet market until they could come out with something tabelts didn't have. Something Flawless new and original to show up the others. Hopefully this thing was worth the wait and can shut down other tablets!
It's alright. I have never been confident in Microsoft's ability to design hardware. If you've ever seen the inside of an XBOX 360, you will now what I mean. (RROD causes are obvious) This thing also has a locked bootloader and the base model has an ARM chip, and honestly the only good thing about modern windows is its market share and that nearly all programs are developed for it. I would reccomend something like the Samsung Series 7 Slate or ASUS Eee Slate, both x86 and both support other OS's.
It's everything I ever wanted, tablet to chill in bed and watch movies/ play small games, ultra book with keyboard to do school work on (type essays etc...), notepad with pen to write notes in class. Even better it actually looks amazing and well made, apparently its engendered to such high tolerances that if you take it apart and put a piece of tape in it will budge when put back together. That said I won’t buy one until the boot loader is cracked and Linux is bootable, the surface with GNOME shell or Unity will be beutiful.
