MIcrosoft Windows Not Responding

My Computer has Hiccups. I Posted about this before and assumed it was a hardware problem. so i just checked my Components everything is fine. Now CONSTANTLY probably every 10 minutes my Computer says Microsoft Windows not Responding. my computer freezes for about 30 seconds. and then goes back to normal. sometimes my apps do it as well. Firefox freezes for about 15 seconds then continues back to normal. this is getting INCREASINGLY more annoying and sometimes it gets to the point where i cant even get my work done. anyone know how to fix this please? or something so i can run a diagnostic.

What kind of system maintenance tool are you running ? If none , you might consider something . Advanced System Care is a decent tool .

I am using a laptop hard drive maybe that is the reason? I had a bunch laying around so I just connected it when I first built the computer.

Could be any number of reasons . From a bad connection, to a drive going bad, to malware , or system misconfig . Its up to you to do the diagnosing .

I'll check out that program out right now hopefully it fixes it

did you try reformatting ?

i formatted the hard drive when I built the computer. there's nothing on the hard drive but steam and some games.

I would try a fresh install, if you tried all of the components and say they are all good there could be some files that are messed up with windows its self. My next step would be reformat and reinstall.

its kinda of a a problem cause I'm using windows 8.1. i upgraded for free with my windows 8 disk

Scan for malware with something like malwarebytes . Do a Antivirus scan and a boot scan . Check your drivers make sure they are all updated . Slim down your start up . Open your task manager up and see what is taking all your resources or going nonresponsive .
