From thier epic fail of a pesentation, they can't even get thier own product to not freeze up and lag at what effectivley is supposed to sell the product.
The surface is dead on arrival just like every other "iPad killer" You can throw as many hardware specs and bells and whistles as you like but if the experience isn't smooth it's all quite usless.
Make sure to buy your 'surfaces' in packs of 2 kids so you can just grab another one!
Remember, Pathogen sold his soul to Apple, and there are no competitors.
His post almost make him seem "mad" at people for competiting. A true fanboy <3 How many tablets have you tried?
On another note, that is kinda sad with the presentation, but having experienced WP7 and W8 I know that the finished product will be on par when it comes to smoothness and unnecessary long animations.
However, until I try this for real, my heart belongs to Android. Having no problems on my 1st gen Eee pad, especially not with ICS
My choice of OS currently has nothing to do with fanboyism. I can easily call you and android fanboy.
I've tried a handful of tablets I don't own any personally. I still have a galaxy s phone and a macbook pro. I think competition is healthy for the consumer, however from what I have seen there hasen't been a single product IMO that has rivaled the iPad in terms of a full package experience.
when Bill gates was presenting windows 98 with full plug and play features, it bluescreened when he pluged in a printer, he then said, "Thats probably why 98 shippments were delayed"
Oh but let us not forget many of apples keynote failures. Both companies have had issues and bugs fleshing themselves out during the presentation. Keep in mind that this is a product that is supposed to launch around October. That is 4 months that they have to fix bugs on an OS that just went beta a month or so ago, and DOA would imply that the device was dead which i saw nothing of the sort, just a bug in the software. It's basically a fully fledged OS in tablet form with ARM and X86 based platforms, which is nothing like the Ipad, frankly i\I think it it is an improvement over anything that's on the market at this point in time. I have used android and ios and i have to say that ios is a more navigatable os BUT android (if given the same developement effort) would much more fit my needs and so would Surface maybe even more so. you say ''from what I have seen there hasen't been a single product IMO that has rivaled the iPad in terms of a full package experience. '' imho it's too early to say that given the full list of features on the windows 8 platform, and from what ive heard W8 runs extremely well on tablets and is very user friendly. Not to mention real multitasking, which iOS and android lack.
I used the hell out of the Transformer Prime from Asus... with the keyboard dock. I've used the iPad 2 a bit and Wendell has the iPad 3. I much prefer the Transformer Prime. I like the Android environment WAY better... I was doing everything from email to old dos and scummVM games. The only thing I like about the Apple is the display.
To each his own... but you can't really say that there is nothing competing with the iPad. I have been seeing so many articles trashing the Surface... but those same websites will roll in the floor and piss themselves for any Apple product.
There are options... and some of us do prefer them.
