Microsoft seizes No-IP domains, for your protection

Scary stuff here, friends.

Microsoft has convinced a Nevada judge to allow them to seize control of numerous No-IP domains under the auspices of protecting the internet.  Microsoft claims that this was done because No-IP wasn't doing enough to stop the problem.

I don't have a problem combating spam, botnets, etc, but this is a heavy handed approach, and is bad for property rights.

Anyway, discuss... I'm sure some of you (Wendell) will have plenty to say about this.

I know it was to deal with malware but if you don't want malware don't make a crap operating system.

While it's easy and even fashionable to bash Windows, the security issues it has pale in comparison to the disregard for security of the average user.  If you disable UAC, you're exactly who I'm talking about.
