As the battle for the cloud services and app stores unfolds further, after Google has just decided last year that every Android device has to be shipped with a full complement of GApps or that it can't use Android, and Cyanogenmod after having been sued for shady business practices, having declared that it wanted to set up its own app store independent from the Google Playstore... well... Microsoft has recognized the smell of putrefaction and corruption it knows so well, and has decided to invest about 70 million USD into Cyanogenmod.

Does this mean Microsoft has finally given up on Windows Mobile?

Well, they've given up on anything Windows since about 1998, but that's not the point, it's not about operating systems any more, because it's all about cloud services now, and those are platform independent, and guess what... Android is by far the most used operating system on the face of the earth, with some 81% market penetration in post-PC devices, and 1.3 billion new devices running Android activated in 2014...

Interesting... So SailfishOS it is lol... f-droid really needs to be getting into SailfishOS and Tizen imo...

And this is why sail fish is my daily driver on my Nexus 5 way less drama.
