I'm not really sure what's so surprising here ... Open source projects exist for the very reason MS is using Chromium as the backend for Edge.
EDIT: I should add IF they are using Chromium. I wouldn't be shocked.
If they are using chromium where's the source? Ive not heard anyone suggesting that they were using open source code..
