So im looking into mics, mainly looking at blue mics and then i was told about the at2020. Theres a usb and an audio jack version. I searched microphones usb vs analog (or something like that), it said you need a good dac and other audio crap. Im wondering if i should go with usb or save like 75$ on this one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0006H92QK/ref=mw_dp_mpd?pd=1&qid=1397855339&sr=8-1
Or do you have any mic suggestions under 75$?
what will you be recording?
Commentaries
If you're willing to spend a bit more I highly recommend the PG27 from shure, you can get the usb version which should be fine or the normal version and get a mic pre-amp which for just one mic can be around $50, I suggest you get a pre amp but the mic itself is great and very under-rated.
I would choose the analog variant over the usb one, because the built-in adc's aren't the best and I have 2 nice Audio Interfaces for this kind of stuff. But depending on your budget and your applications the usb variants will be fine!
Do you have recorded your commentaries before? If yes with what equipment and what are you expecting to achieve with a new microphone?
No, i havent recorded yet, im gonna do youtube like seananners. With that in mind any mic suggestions?
I was looking at the samson meteor and the blue snowball. I looked at a vs of there sound quality. Think is was a little bit biased towards samson.
