Microphone Equalization (highs)

I wish to either get my microphone to be less sensitive, or I want to have some sort of equalizer that happens before the sound gets through teamspeak/skype to at least get rid of the high frequencies my mic pics up. I have searched and searched and I have come up with nothing. Also, I am using an ATR 2500-usb microphone if it helps.

Any help would be HIGHLY appreciated, since this mic pics up noise from the other room, through a door and about 30 feet away. (Maybe a slight exaggeration, but everything in this carpeted room is heard.)

idk about gain per se but just lowering the mic level itself doesn't change too much in the realm of how sensitive it is.

http://www.dxatlas.com/VShaper/  when I tried using this software it gave me an error 1450, I only get it when I select my usb mic as the input device. :/
