I did an eBay search to find if the B400UHD's are on sale yet, but I stumbled upon this new model I haven't seen before:
Anyone got one of these yet? Worth it over the MVA B400UHD? Seems like the same 8.5ms response time. Gotta imagine the LG IPS display is gorgeous. I have 3x27" Yakamasi LG IPS displays and love them.
I hope Wendell reviews this bad boy! I want one :D
5000:1 contrast on an IPS display? I doubt that. Unless this is a new god like panel I can't see it being as good as the MVA ones in that regard. I have a feeling it's the same panel as the Crossover 434k and the UHD420. If that's the case then bleh.
I cannot talk for others; but think of the size and practicality; specs are nice and the A409U is very nice; and it is a 40. I have 4 stations with 40 s a fifth one with 46, it was a test ! and very disappointed, it is not practical it is dizziness producing and definitely not worth shit to work with FOR ME. We tried, 39, 40, 42,46,55 and for desk tops is 40. (IMO).............the 55 4K went to the bedroom, the 46HD stayed in the lab, do not know were to put it, the 42 4k in the dining room/kitchen and the other rigs all have 4k 40 s. and everything is well in my little world/man-wife cave.
this is not bragging but realistic testing and operational comparisons, and we both stick for desk IT IS 40 (FOR US)
Do you guys think the 8.5ms response time on the monitor is going to make gaming pretty terrible? The AMH A409U has 5ms response time on their MVA panels.
The biggest selling point for me is IPS and all metal frame/stand on this Microboard B420UHD, but if it's going to be horrible to look at when anything fast moving is on the screen, that's probably a deal breaker for me.
I did not want to stress anybody , but that spec really stood out for me ! The A409U is quite decent but not a super twitch , although I know a couple of crazy gamers, and they are not complaining. (mind you most of their comments are on how incredible the display is). I am getting worried that the A409U s days are counted; if 40 panels are not available anymore; they will have to go bigger too, or have a drastic price increase for new production 40 inch panels. and that brings us to the 42 s now............ I am anxious to get a leo bodnar reading; that basis I can compare to. (quick calculating suggest around 6 frames lag)(IMO)
Welp, I went for it. I am ready to embrace the 4K 42" lifestyle! I'll let you guys know what I think when I get it setup after the holiday week here. Thanks!
Does anyone know the difference between this and the $550 VIZIO-M43 you can get w/Amazon Prime shipping? I couldn't find the panel type for the Vizio, but I'd guess an IPS variant. Or the $500 LG IPS 43" panel (also Prime)?
I bought a 409U from dream-seller and like it so much I'd like to buy another 40"-ish 4k monitor. But for $700 I'm not sure what's going to be better about the AH-IPS Microboard. It is heavier than the Vizio (26lb Microboard vs. 22.7lb vizio).
