Micro ATX HD 7950 Build Help

Hello, I need help with this build. My budget would be around $550. I won't need RAM, ODD, OS, HDD as I already have. Thanks.

Why do you want it to be Micro ATX? Did you have a case already in mind or does that matter?

What RAM do you have, BTW?

* CPU/GPU (APU) would run faster with at least 1866 mHz RAM, if that is what you have. 1600 mHz will do, but if your RAM is 1333 mHz than your gaming experience will be hindered a bit.

* It would make more sense to upgrade the CPU to the FX 6300 for $10 more, but I'm already over budget by $9, so you can decide.

Thanks for your reply(s), yeah your right, can you recommend me a cheap ATX motherboard that can run dual pci x8 slots. And should I get a 7870 XT instead of 7950, then later on, I could add a 7950. I can extend my budget towards $600

Okay here's a build w/a Mobo that can support 8x/8x Crossfire, but I don't recommend doing Crossfire/SLI, because it costs more and can add a bit of complexity that some people don't want to deal with. Sometimes Crossfire/SLI aren't supported, so you don't get the benefits.

or if the FX 6300 is enough CPU (which it's a good one too):

The last build is a good compromise between budget and performance. It's only $550 and has all of the good things that I'd look at. The 7870 XT I've listed on the last 2 builds is a good one and has almost 7950  performance.

Take a look at the review of the 7870 LE Tahiti below:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/tahiti-le-7870-7930-benchmark,3401.html

Thanks, yeah i'll be going with the third build which is powerful and at a good price. Are you sure that 10.5" card will fit into that case?

Yes it should be fine, according to Newegg specs:

VGA Clearance Maximum: 230mm w/ hard drive, 330mm w/o hard drive

That equals to 9"-13" for the GPU. Now if you want a bit more space the Corsair 200R is the perfect case for space!

Case has room for graphic cards up to 430mm long (300mm with drive cage)!!

$60 - $10 MIRc = $50!!
