Hello everyone,
I recently made a new pc and now I tried skype with a friend of mine but my mic just wouldnt work I have tried to fix it for over 2 hours now but I can’t seem to find the problem. It does show up in devices but the mic won’t record any sound?
Any help would be deeply appreciated 
Do you happen to have it selected in skype? If so, what have you already done to fix it?
Make sure that it is set as your default communication device in Windows and in Skype. Download audacity and verify the mic is physically working. Windows has the option to turn active monitoring on, so you can "Listen" to your mic through your headphones or speakers, but its normally off by default. The bottom line is, if audacity detects no input from an analog mic, the mic or DAC is most likely broken. If its USB check the drivers.
Check you've plugged in the microphone header into your motherboard if you're using your case's headphone port, not the one on the motherboard IO.
