Mic Help!

So i planin to buy the atr2500 mainly beacuse it is usb which I need for sure and sounds really good for the money but what can i mount the mic to the rode psm1 shock mount then to the rode psa1? or do I need a diffrent shock mount?

As a Music Tech student i can happily say that I have no problem mounting condenser microphones on a stand without a shock mount OUTSIDE of a studio, like in my home studio. For any on-the-desk work, like video commentary, gaming chat, etc. then i really recommend you spend your money in buying a better mic or interface or even better XLR cable (unless its a USB mic, which i don't recommend.) instead of a shock mount.

I very much doubt that you'll be able to fit any one mic, on another companies shock mount. I don't know for sure but I'm 99% certain that THAT mic is not compatible with THAT shock mount. So, get a short-arm desktop stand like a Millenium DS100 or ever (the super cheap) DS20 with its proprietary shock-mount :)
Or, you just get a long arm off-desk stand which won't get any vibrations from the desk if you really wanted to. This option is likely to be cheaper since shock-mounts are most of the time more expensive than a stand anyway!!

If you absolutely need a USB mic and you don't want to hassle with an interface, etc., then I'd recommend an AT2020 but if it's out of your budget then definitely go for that ATR2500 :)

Thanks! But with the xlr mics dont i need a dac?
