yeah, metalcore is shit and the fans usually are just posers trying to look "tough" by listening to heavy music.


if you want to get into real metal start with the basics, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Dio, Megadeth... without a foundation in the classics it's hard to understand what's going on with modern stuff.

into eternity, nevermore, etc. are great... not much into elvenking... but I do have their cd's...


I know everyone is going to kill me... but I never liked the classics. Iron Maiden is ok... Don't like Judas Priest much... don't like Black Sabbath much either...


They play a very different style of metal compared to what I grew up on.


I truthfully got started on a couple of christian bands (my mother would only allow me to buy music from christian stores... !!!)...


I always purchased whatever had the most evil looking cover... so I ended up starting with Mortification... and even though their video is gay I think they are a really good death metal band... especially since they were around in the late 80's:
