hello members of tek syndicate, i still don't know much about programming, so i decided to talk to someone who's more of an expert. linus & co don't seem as well suited as your team. so for a while i've been using ad blocking software, because ads are really obnoxious, but i feel sorry using it, because it, not nessarally hurts content creators such as yourself, but doesn't help them. so i was thinking of a way i could still see the ads, but not get so annoyed at them, and i came up with an idea, that i couldn't find on the quick google search i did. what i thought of, was just muting the ads, and possibly making it so when i go to pause the youtube videos, it won't open up the ads page(i'm not sure how the revenue works, so i don't know if that second part would do the same thing as blocking all together). so i'd like to challenge you all, not just for your own benefit, but for the benefit of the entire youtube community. that challenge is to make a plugin for internet browsers, that acts like ad blocking software, but only blocks the audio, or just auto mutes it. it would be much appreciated, by at least me, if not more if that becomes a thing.
i am sorry for the late (very very late) response, but i am not an active member of the forum. i would like to ask you why exactly this post of mine is”farked up”. might it be the fact i use adblock, or is it that i want to support the syndicate, but not give up adblock? maybe it was the fact that i am asking for the assistance of someone who thrives on the funding given by ads? or could it just be a simple grammar nazi thing? if it’s the first thing, i really could care less about how you feel about adblock, and i will do as i wish with it. i do not wish to man up and disable it, because it just makes the internet a better place in my opinion. sadly this comes at the cost of the content creators, which leads me into the second idea for your comment. the answer for the second idea is i thought it would be in the benefit of teksyndicate to take this into consideration, as i am not the only one to use adblock who watches teksyndacate. most others will remain in the shadows, as i mainly do, and not bother to put the minimal amount of effort it takes to type a short essay. the will just watch, and watch without a care in the world. as for the third idea, my answer is this. iduwatiwant
