Hello there,
I am in the process of building a PC that uses 2 Xeon 8124m CPUs and Gigabyte MD71-HB0 motherboard.
I currently have 8 RAM sticks - Crucial 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 ECC REG DIMM RAM Server Memory of Model CT16G4RFD4266 (2R * 4), but there are 16 DIMM slots. I assume I don’t use the black ones (and I don’t know the purpose of using the black color vs. blue for those DIMM slots), which means I have 12 slots in total or 6 slots for each CPU.
By symmetry, I should give each CPU 4 RAM modules. So, which 4 slots should I use for each CPU for the best configuration/maximum performance?
From the link above, there is “Hardware Installation Guide” to download, which contains the names of the slots.
Thank you…!
