Hi,
What would be the best way to achieve the following:
I want to get a mini pc to be a media player on my tv and have it be capable of playing games, mostly emulation.
As I want it to be able to play games but only rarely I thought of the 2 following options as hardware.
https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005005558003439.html the Ryzen 7 7730U WiFi6 £233.08 bare bones with 32/64gb ram with a 2tb nvme I already have
or https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005004957101661.html the Ryzen * Ryzen 7 7840HS WiFi6 £444.30 bare bones with 32/64gb ram with a 2tb nvme I already have
If anyone happens to know from personal experience if either of these actually support ecc memory that would be great to know, the cpu’s do but that is no guarantee.
Both are far more power than is needed for a media player so would be a waste other than the limited use to play games rarely, so I have decided to make it more useful, especially as it will be on 24/7 so want it to be a virtual server as well.
I do not know if any of the bare metal virtual servers would work as I would need to pass thru the media center to the hdmi using the apu’s graphics, or at least one of the ports, if this is possible great as it would by far be the best option.
Assuming it is not what is the best way to achieve this?
Also not totally related but does anyone know of a good media pc remote they could recommend.
Thanks in advance
Mark
