Media PC

Hi everyone,
So I was looking into making a media pc that can
play videos easily at 1080p without any lag.
I don't have much experience with building media pcs
so I was wondering if you guys can link me to some builds.
Thanks!

You don't really need a lot to play 1080p if its going to strictly be a media center. I've got an old Dell Vostro 200 Slim sitting in the living room running OpenELEC that does fine barring the occasional codec hiccup. This build would be able to handle video play back fairly easily on OpenELEC or Windows with Kodi. If you can run some ethernet cable you'd also wouldn't need a keyboard/mouse/IR remote by installing the WakeOnLAN addon and pairing it with Yaste on an Android device or the Official XBMC app on iOS.

For an inexpensive PC build for use as a strictly media streaming box, this build is perfectly fine. Slap Kodibuntu on it and you will be just fine.
