Media Center PC and off-Topic question

I’m in an strenuous predicament.

I want to build a media center PC, but I need expertise and recommendation on which Silent Solution Video card to purchase, that is capable of playing Blue Ray without effort and some games on semi-high quality. I was THINKING about the Silent Cell Gigabyte 5770 1GB. Can you give me any other options?


Also, I wanted to know your opinion on lapping CPU’s and lapping the Koolance CPU 360 waterblock.

If you can get a passive cooled 5770 or atleast silent, that'd be good.. Nice cards for your usage.


Lapping is... Overrated. Sure you get a liiiittle nice temps, but for the amount of work you have to do, it's not worth it unless youre clocking like mad, which I doubt, since it's a mediacenter pc and all.
