Hey guys, looking to get a new mechanical keyboard primarily for gaming. Been looking at the ducky shine 3 however would like to ask what is each persons take on the different cherry mx switches, blue red brown black. So far only felt what the blues are like however can't really compare. Using a membrane keyboard now. Other keyboard brand/model recommendations are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
I only remember what the cherry blues and reds feel like. The cherry red switches are vastly different from blues as they are similar to a membrane keyboard. The two biggest differences being that they are much easier to press and you don't have to push them down all the way for the keyboard to register it as a pressed key (making it very easy to spam). In my oppinion the brand you end up choosing will boil down to whatever features you want most on your keyboard. Some good brands would be: corsair and coolermaster (cmstorm).
Although I have a blackwidow ultimate advertised as a mechanical keyboard, Razer never actually specified the switch. Based on speculation it is using blue switches (you can tell from the sound they make) although it was never stated anywhere on the box. What I'm trying to say is: go with a brand that knows what they are selling because the term mechanical keyboard is to broad.
Alright thanks a bunch. I've felt the razer before, heard those were blues. Might just get a blue and learn to get used to it.
What is your budget, my good sir?
I have a ducky zero with blues and I absolutely love it. Highly recommended
budget is probably around 150-200? try to keep it as low as possible but the ducky has been a really attracting option. blues seem to be a popular choice yar.
Get a Code Keyboard!

Hardware level options for DVORAK, COLEMAK, and QWERTY, backlights, and MX Clears, in both TK and TKL options.
I've got a ducky shine zero with browns! I'd have a look at the shine zero, because, from what I can tell, it's practically the same keyboard, but with less lighting options, so if you don't need/want them, the zero might be a good choice.
Im having a razer blackwidow ultimate cherry red but the SS 6GV2 with cherry black is also nice for 80$
