This will be my first post on the forum.
I am a long to viewer of the podcast and love all of the content tek syndicate team puts up.
On to the issue , I have a CM Storm quickfire ultimate keyboard "blue switches", the issue is it seems to randomly stop working upon reboot or cold boots of my system.
If unplug and replug it back in it works fine. Just kind of annoying when this happens.
Does anyone know why this might be happening?

i have a CM storm quickfire TK with blue switches, and it happened to me too, i found out that my USB ports are driving too many things, and it cant always supply enough power for all devices, my solution: when it happens ill unplug every other usb for the boot, and when the POST passes, i plug everything back in (led-driving arduino, audio interface, mouse, webcam 1, webcam 2 etc)
That seems like an odd solution, lol but if it works it works, ill have to try it.
usually my keyboard wont light up, and bios will say "no keyboard detected", and sometimes "USB over-current detected", and when i tried the solution above, it works.
either that, or your power supply is dying and cant supply enough power for USB, my CX750 is pushed to quite high with 4770k, r9 280 and Radeon hd 6950 so that eats most of my power... and sometimes usb just does not get enough
Odd for my case that only seems to happen randomly, i do not have much plugged into the usb, only mouse and keyboard, and maybe the occasional flash drive.
happens to me randomly too, but its not a kb issue since it works like charm on my other rigs
I'm assuming you've tried different USB ports? I've had similar problems with my mouse where it just stopped working after restarts and cold boots of my system. Moved it to a different port and all has been well for the past few months. I'm thinking it might stem from the motherboard USB ports and the device being on different ends of the tolerance range.
Sounds like a motherboard/PSU issue.....
@anon59440203 I have tried multiple ports usb2/3 as well as rear i/o motherboard and front i/o ports, I suppose it could be motherboard related but i figure trying the front i/o would eliminate that problem, I don't have a spare psu to try it with or other systems to test it on, only laptops. @mouf
You can use an external keyboard on a laptop just plug it into the usb port.
