Has anyone heard any info on maxwell? I am quite interested because the only thing i've seen is the roadmap, and the generational leap seems pretty big. Maxwell is the only thing convincing me to not drop $650 for a 780. Honestly, the 770 should suffice for now, right?
Depends on your display. I think the 780 is too much for the standard 1080p 60Hz display. Since, that is a bit of a bottleneck. If that's what you happen to have, go with the 770. That would be a nice balance. Or even the 7950/ '70.
My 780 matches my 1440p panel very well. If you have a large resolution (or high refresh rate, maybe), I would recommend buying a 780.
And I very much doubt that we will see Maxwell until the end of 2014, possibly start of 2015. That's a relatively long wait.
If you have (what I would call...) an appropriate display for the 780, you could always sell it later, and then grab a Maxwell card. I'm not sure what the estimated resale value could be, I'd imagine you would get a good amount of money back. It's just an idea.
the 770 is an amazing card. I just ordered one for my friends build.
I'm not too siked for maxwell primarily because of "VOLTA" -look it up you may understand
Logan/Wendell needs to add the voting system. This is a good comment.
Well, if the release of maxwell will be around 2015, anything beyond that seems a bit too far away (for now at least). I really want a 1440p display, but they are so damn expensive. Honestly, is it really worth the $500? The whole thing with my build that i've planned for so long is that I can afford all of the nicer things, but can't determine if they are necessary.
I realy want to wait for maxwell (bang bang Maxwell's silver hammer came down on hes head...), but my 550 ti wont even run arma 3 at minimal spec. Ahh, decisions.
