mATX TRX40 board... possibly from AsRock - any rumors out there?

So yeah that’s one of the reasons why I still itching for purchase but resisting in hope that AsRock will unveil some mATX TRX40 board in next 2 weeks or so. It seems that only AsRock understood that need from users. CPU socket and 3x16 slots. If they did one for X399 why not TRX40?

Any rumors in the industry? Just curious if we 'll see one. Sick and tired of these behemoth PCs, not getting any younger. Ha!

Technically possible, but likely not gonna happen.
m-atx is basically a dead form factor, it simply does not sell anymore,
at least not when it comes to AMD.
So that’s why we see so little AM4 m-atx boards today.
It makes no sense for motherboard manufacturers to put allot of R&D money,
towards developing a m-atx board that won’t really sell on.

Also there is really no reason to have a m-axtx board on a HEDT platform.
Because limited space, and there for limited amount of features you could put on it.
That to me makes no sense, but of course that is a personal opinion.

There are still a very few m-atx boards for AMD in the mainstream market.
However those boards aren’t really worth looking at.
Intel Z390 has more options, but even at that,
there are only a few true great ones.

If you still want a HEDT m-atx system, pretty much the only decent option,
will be the Asrock X399-M.
However keep in mind that X399 is a EOL platform.

Tell that to the case makers making ITX and mATX cases.

Well yeah that is indeed still strange haha.
Itx is still pretty popular but m-atx not really anymore.

mATX a dead platform?

I just for lols in a backward, bigoted end of the Universe I live checked how many mATX boards I can buy. AM4/TR4 and 1151 I can choose from 154 various models.

mITX is total waste of time IMHO. What’s wrong with people who cannot afford like 3 cm more of PCB when case fits both standards just fine, that’s ludicrous.

I’m aware of X399 mATX, but X399 after about 3 years of first hand experience is crap. I regret switch from X99 to this day. I got lured by the lanes when Intel announced X299 and it was/is total waste. If Intel came with 10980X in 2017 I would never pick Threadripper 1st gen. There is nothing that my 5930k/x99 cannot do better or as good as x399/1920x.

I know that there are still plenty of choices in regards to mainstream platforms.
However like i said most of those boards aint really worth looking at.
Unless somebody just wants a really cheap setup.
But generally not many people pay much attention to them.
There are a very few decent m-atx options, but generally not many.

So yeah in that regards m-atx platform is pretty much dead.
Or at least it isn’t as popular anymore as it used to be.
On the intel side of things we do have more options.
Like the Asus maximus XI Gene, which is top of the line.
But the other options are mediocre at best.

On intel X299 there actually is one option in regards to consumer grade boards.
That is the Asrock X299M Extreme4.
But that is kinda irrelevant to this topic i guess.
Although could be a viable option in regards to m-atx on HEDT.

But tl/dr TRX40 m-atx boards likely not gonna happen.

You know what’s the stupid part? The main issue with PCIe4 is that the signal is weak and needs to be amplified to reach half the motherboard… mATX is smaller than full ATX and doesn’t need amplification because half the PCIe slots are gone…
But I guess nobody cares…

Yup…
Show me the best X570 mATX board?
My point exactly…
Still not sure? Show me the best X470 board …
There we go…
Yeah, half A320 boards are mATX, but that doesn’t matter for this discussion…
How many TR4 mATX boards are there?
1…

Yup its pretty unfortunate.
But there simply does not seem to be a huge market anymore for m-atx.
And there for it’s pretty much a dead platform.
M-atx is of course still used and seen in the oem / pre build market.
But that is of course a whole different ball park.

Like you said, which i agree on, simply not many decent m-atx boards on the market anymore.
Only the Asus maximus XI Gene Z390 intel board,
but even that board is kinda questionable at its current price point really.

That’s pretty much true…
Well, if someone makes a really good board maybe people will buy it, but maybe not…
