mATX case choice

1. Silverstone Sugo SG09

2. Bitfenix Prodigy / colossus

3. Aerocool DS cube

I've been looking at these for moving the home of my mATX rig from a tower case. This is because I am going to university hopefully this September. I have a 5.25' drive and 3.5' HDD, as well as a 16cm ATX PSU, so am slightly limited as to what I can move into.

I am uncertain which of the three to go for. I like the idea of the quiet fans of the DS cube, but don't totally dig the looks. The Sugo seems like a fun build, but has questionable airflow for my graphics card and is said to be loud. The bitfenix cases... well... they look nice, but would be quite steep because I'd like a spectre pro 230mm to go with them..

Any recommendations?

Fractal Arc Mini

Ill take a look, cheers :)

Coolermaster N200, Logan did a build in one. I think even Wendell is rocking on now from the looks of the latest Tek videos.

I've been looking at MATX too.

  1. Xigmatek Aquila
  2. Silverstone Fortress FT03
  3. Zalman T Series (Probably some of the best bang per buck), not Tek Quality, but interesting video
  4. Anidees AI4

Just some ideas.

p.s. Wow the default link colour and what have you is terrible in this forum.

I use a Silverstone FT03. I can vouch for it. its one of my favorite mATX cases of all time. but it is a bit Pricy. and Airflow is Really Nice. Positive Air Pressure only.

I have the Mini R2, and it's awesome. It's not quite that small, but it's easy to pick up and move around. It fits on a desk too. Also: dust filters.

For reference, I have an optical drive, an HDD, two SSDs, and a Kraken X40 in there. Two fans in front, one on top, and one in back.

^^^^ I like that case a lot

cm n200 is a very nice case at $50 i personally own it

ill second the arc 2 mini......    its almost mid tower size though.   lots of space though!!

My favorite mATX case is definitely Arc Mini R2. Everything is great at it... Fan filters everywhere, ability to customize the internals as you see fit, 3 fans out of the box, fan controller, ssd trays and a freaking window...

However, if the budget is limited - N200 gets great reviews all over the place...

Xigmatek Aquila is a case, you should really take a look at. I personally don't like it, but you may love it. It is solid, filtered, and everything else... I just don't like it visually.

excellent choice!

I see Xigmatek have a new MATX case. Looks like a LANparty case. The Vanguard.

Thought it worth mentioning.

I'm starting to move away from Fractal cases due to mine having issues. I've used a few Silverstone cases for friends and family lately and the experience has been exemplary. Outstanding quality and features not to mention they're aesthetically pleasing. Well to me anyway ;) I'd rather have a well engineered plain case than some blingy POS plastic monstrosity.

Although this isn't one of the cases I have used it comes highly recommended.
