That would be my reasoning as well.
Its meant for server case/chassis… so makes sense for airflow

I’m not sure it actually matters though. I suppose it could block the vrm heat sink.
speaking of which, I’m not so sure I would want to put a 3700 or better in that board with only those 2 chokes… thats just a little more than spooky to me.
I’m not sure what that vrm setup is but the power staging looks weak.
