Make system tray icons compact windows 10

ok, I just moved to 10 from 7, this was less by choice and more by force, I can not explain how frustrating this is trying to fix everything I hate, but this one… this one bothers me more than it has any right to.

I like seeing all the icons in the system tray at once, but I want them to be compact, at some point, they compacted and looked how I want them to, but then they bolated out and take up roughtly 30% more space than they should again… any idea how to ‘fix’ this?

Can you show what it should look like and what it looks like now?

That is what it looks like now

That is what I would like it to look like, nice and compact but still visible.

Try deleting IconCache.db and restart pc.

sorry, been getting alot of things set up, this did not work but at a random intervol it did shrink down for some reason I have no idea why

Ok, I have 0 idea what is causing the problem, trying to get my g29 to work in forza 4 saw me restart the computer quite a few times so I wanted to see if I could get this fixed, long and short, nothing in windows was working for the solution, so what it came down to was 7+ tweaker and setting tray_icon_padding to 5-10 to get rid of that I ended up with 7, by default the padding seemed to be 20, no idea why its doing this, it could be I have a tablet monitor for one display, it could just be an annoying querk.
