I bought a Kingston SSDNow V300 60gb and I've been trying to clone over my hdd. I have a Mid-2012 i7 Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.3.
I've used CCC, SuperDuper and done a clean install of Mavericks to the drive with the ssd in the included external enclosure, after which all three time it will boot fine in the enclosure.
Once I put the SSD inside the mac it refuses to boot. CCC says to do the clone with ssd inside and the hdd in the enclosure but it won't work for me. Also the SSD will not format what so ever internally while booting from the hdd in the enclosure.
Do you mean that it won't boot when the ssd is set up internally?
If so have you held down the option key to select the boot drive? Select the external drive as that has your OS on it.
Your last paragraph is a tad confusing.
I've clone the ssd 3 different times and each time it will boot while its in the enclosure. Putting it inside the Mac, it doesn't boot.
'CCC says to do the clone with ssd inside and the hdd in the enclosure'
Did you take the hdd out and put it in the enclosure and the SSD in the computer?
'I've clone the ssd 3 different times and each time it will boot while its in the enclosure. Putting it inside the Mac, it doesn't boot'
Try cloning the hdd with the SSD in the actual computer.
How is the SSD currently formatted? If you put it in the enclosure you should be able to format to mac in disk utility quite easily.
Did you take the hdd out and put it in the enclosure and the SSD in the computer?
I did, but it stalls out at 10mb, so thats a no go.
i am glad i chose to NOT own a mac :)
