Major internet speed issues

Not sure if this goes here, but it came with my motherboard.

I have an ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac motherboard. It has a Broadcom 802.11ac wifi card on it.

When I first got it the card would connect okay, just okay. Sometimes it would only have 2 bars on Windows 8.1. That was usually the highest it went. I didn't do speed tests then unfortunately.

I had been using the 2.4ghz band since I didn't even know my router (it's in my Dad's house) had a 5ghz ac band.

So I went on a plane and checked my pc in the suitcase like an idiot. It seemed a bit beat up when I got it. Luckily everything was fine, except when I tried to connect using my Mom's wifi, it didn't work, and said could not connect. I figured the wireless card was damaged.

So now I am back to my Dad's house and the card still doesn't work well. I was using a USB wireless card, but that only supports bgn and I wanted to use the ac band. So I tried to activate the ac band and then connect using to internal wifi. It sort of works but is super slow. It says only one bar on windows 10. Same for the 2.4ghz n band. The speed is very slow on ac and even slower on n obviously. I get between 2mb/s and 12mb/s is the highest I'm getting, yet through Ethernet I get 90+ mb/s. This is weird because it even does this on my laptop which only uses 2.4 n bands, the highest speed is about 8mb/s. I'm not sure what to do because 8mb/s is way slow compared to 90mb/s it shouldn't be this slow. However, on my iPhone 5c I get 30+ mb/s through the 5ghz ac band of my router, but about 7 mb/s on the 2.4ghz n band. I don't understand why the n is so slow. I also don't know if my PC's card is broken or not.

tl:dr Get very slow speeds on 2.4ghz n band of router, and slow speeds on my 5ghz ac band with my PC which might have a damaged wifi card, but good speeds on iPhone 5c using ac band.

If those speeds are MB/s and not mb/s then those seem pretty normal.

Different ac devices will have different speeds depending on how many radios they have. My phone can connect at 800mb/s whereas may laptop can only use 400mb/s.

It is possible that the antenna wire has detached from the card during your travels.

They both seem to be connected like above, but maybe they are not connected all the way some how?

I want to use the 802.11ac for my pc to get good speeds, should I find a replacement card? Also would getting antennas to connect to those ports on the motherboard help? I don't currently have any.

They don't connect to the MOBO. They usually are routed up around the display. They are just antenna. I will give you the obligatory reinstall the drivers suggestion but trying a different card might not be a bad idea. sometimes they just go bad. just search the PN (its prob on the stickier on the card, or see if you can find one that is compatible with all the ABG/ NC features. Usually you can find them cheep on ebay.
