Mail-In PC Repair

I’ve got two Dell Latitude E5430’s that are dysfunctional, and I’m wondering if anyone knows of a place that accepts mail-in repairs for PC’s. The first one stopped displaying anything on the screen, after a storm passed, so I tried to see what hardware components were working, versus which weren’t, by swapping them with a near same model computer. When I swapped the RAM, and the RAM only, it made my second computer not work. Putting the original RAM back didn’t fix the issue either, so now I’m stuck with two dysfunctional laptops. We didn’t even get a full good use out of them, so I’d like to try,and get these repaired if I can.

If they were recent Dell’s I’d say go to the warranty site. Even if you Dell is past warranty, you can usually purchase an extra 2~3 years and get a broken laptop fixed.

That being said, the E5430 looks pretty old and outside any service window. Still, type in the serial number anyway to see if Dell offers anything.

Are you close to Texas, or does Louis Rossman take mail-ins? Are you with a 2 hour drive of a Microcenter? I haven’t used MC’s service center, but I know they are authorized for Dell repairs and can get most parts.

This place two streets over from me repairs laptops… Send it there.

I have considered offering such services, but the biggest problem is risking additional damage shipping the item both ways. Plus the addition of shipping costs cutting into already slim margins.

You might inquire at https://www.parts-people.com/ .

The only thing I know about them is that they have a series of Youtube videos where one of the guys (maybe the owner) records him fixing various Dell Laptops.
