I have a 13 inch mid 2009 macbook pro and im getting pretty high temps while just watching youtube videos. im hitting 80-90 and i was just wondering if this is normal or if i should be worried, ive had the computer for about 4 years and its been moved around alot do i need to open it up and clean out dust?
You definitely need to clean out the dust. Preferably one a month. You don't have to open it, just fine the intake vent and take a can of air to it.
This is normal, apple likes to keep there fans running almost silently until the cpu hit critical temps, then the fans actually start to cool, Its suicidal for the CPU but it makes mac more desirable because they are quiet >.>
