I tried to do a quick search, but didn’t find it quickly so thought I should ask. MSI B550 board - had a 3900 and 2080 in there and recently put in a 5950 and 3080 as an upgrade (with power supply up from 850 to 1000 watt).
2 4K Samsung Monitors. With the 2080, when I’d boot my PC - I would see the “press F2 to enter BIOS/Posting messages”. After getting the 3080, via the kvm, it doesn’t show until Windows/Linux posts. It’s dual boot so I do like to be able to change which uefi partition, but it’s hard with no boot screen.
If the KVM is bypassed (enther dvi directly or one of the hdmi ports with DP cables unplugged - only way I can easily get into my BIOS.
Very rarely it shows (obviously never when I need it). The Thunderbolt displayport laptop works fine and any laptop booting on it goes right on through.
Anything stupid I’m missing - I’m sure there is an init signal that’s not strong enough or different enough and the windows driver kicks in.
It’s been rock solid for a bit. Been eyeballing another one and paying the other one forward (like I did with the 3900 and 2080 to my friends teenage nerd).
