LucasArts To Release Classic Games on Steam Wednes

The PC has known many a great game in all of these years, mostly in the 90's. Along with the legendary RPG and FPS games, the point-and-click Adventure genre was once booming, and LucasArts was at the helm. Maniac Mansion. Zak McKracken. Monkey Island. Loom. Full Throttle. Grim Fandango. I could have actually just said "Tim Schafer" if I wanted to. But anyways, ya'll know all that. According to the official LucasArts Twitter, there will be news today regarding a new game based on old a classic IP.

"Amazing news
coming Monday! Super excited! You have no idea how tough it is not to
start yelling about it! But it's secret! Until Monday! -- Okay, we will do hints. It is awesome news for our old school fans. (anything more direct might get me in trouble) -- I did say nothing to do with new IP people! Keep guessing though. I might have to retweet the guy who figures it out..."

Afterwards, replies poured in asking what the news is, and eventually the... Uhm.... Official LucasArts... Tweeter?.. Yeah, the Official LucasArts tweeter revealed someone figured it out, but didn't say who. He later said that a few more people had figured it out. By searching "@lucasartsgames" on Twitter, it can be seen that LA fans have guessed every single thing imaginable that you can do with the LucasArts catalog.

Judging by the few, but noticeable and very plausible guesses, I would go with the entire LucasArts catalog on Steam theory, with full support for Vista and XP.

EDIT:
I was right. Hurray. See Killgroup's post below.

That would be pretty cool. There would probably be like 50% off as well when it first goes on.

Just read on Lucas Arts twitter and it says

"So lets see who will be happy: LucasArts has partnered with Steam. Digital adventurey goodness."

I owned this mystery. lol

Can't wait, I loved Loom, Battlefront II and Republic Commando.

You sir are Sherlock Holmes.

I'd buy Star Wars Battlefront 2 for 10 bucks, as well as Republic Commando. Can't wait to see what other games they are going to add to the catalog. I'm going to guess every game eventually.

i have battlefront 2, and i played the demo of republic commando, was pretty good. i really enjoyed the first rogue squadron game on the n64 the most.
