LSI 9217-8i with ASUS X99-A II MB

I can’t get into LSI ROM BIOS on boot, on my ASUS X99-A II motherboard.

I have already tried making changes to the CSM in the BIOS:

Launch CSM: Enabled
Boot Device Control: UEFI and Legacy OPROM
Boot from Network Devices: Ignore
Boot from Storage Decives: Ignore
Boot from PCI-E/PCI Expansion Devices: Legacy only

I have tried the SAS HBA with an HP Z440 and am able to access my SAS drives and LSI SAS config utility without issues.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I would think you’d want “Boot from Storage Devices” enabled, so that it loads the ROM for the LSI card.

Question is, why are you trying to even get in there?

Tried that got the same results.

I have a number of SAS drives I want to use with my ASUS X99-A II motherboard, but can’t seem to get them connected to this motherboard.

The LSI 9217-8i works fine on different system/motherboard with the same Windows 10 version and is able to access all the SAS drives.

I did notice that on that system it does boot the LSI ROM BIOS on boot which it doesn’t on my ASUS X99-A II, so figured it might be related to it not working.
