LSI 9211-8i not working in windows 10

I currently have a lsi 9211-8i I got from a seller on eBay from a Datto sas nas. Sellers for both the drives (8tb sas) and NAS have confirmed that the HDDS and NAS were working perfectly before. I did have to RMA the included supermicro MBD-A1SRI-2758F-P due to the know c2000 bug. However, the LSI HBA doesn’t show any drives and I cannot install the drivers for windows 10 as it is giving me “windows api error 5 access is denied” error. I am logged onto the admin account. LSI HBA is on IR firmware. Is it possible to flash through windows? I tried using sas2flash and it would open the application then immediately close it with no time to see the window itself.

Does anyone have any tips for getting the HBA working? The motherboard is recognizing a PCI device plugged in.

You need to run it from Command Prompt window, but it (probably) won’t be able to flash the card.

There is a guide for cross flashing Dell PERC H310 to LSI, it’s essentially 9211-8i with Dell firmware. You can skip cross flashing Dell to LSI part, just do IR to IT firmware.

I ran into some problems myself, and here is the gist here. Again, you can skip downgrade and cross flash parts.
