Will the quad sata hat run spinning rust? And does the website seem legit? I seldom order from China outside the big 3

Site is legit. It will do spinning rust. If you want to use full size HDDs, then you will need an external power supply. Otherwise, the hat uses a barrel connector and will accept up to 15 VCC input I believe. I have the 9 Volt power supply that came with the kit since I pre-ordered
Radxa makes the Rock Pi SOCs. they have been around since about 2012.

Hey you could also use Raspberry PI 4 compute modules! They’re now available with a adapter board that comes with Gigabit Ethernet, SATA and PCIe x1 Gen2.0
