Low PCMark score?

So, I just bought an XFX HD 5870 and decided to finally try the PCmark vantage x64 tool or what ever. But When I ran it, I got a 5230, which seemed pretty ****** low. Is this normal? Â Or is my CPU/Ram bottlenecking my peformance? My system:Intel Q9400 @ 3.1Ghz//OCZ 8Gb DDR2 @ 830//XFX HD 5870 850/1200//EVGA 780i Mobo. i can't be 100% sure but its possible reinstalling windows would fix that

Nvmd, I just searched similar system results, and its actually VERY common. I guess Im gonna start looking for for either a new LGA 1156 or AM3 build.

Try and go with an i5, because they have no FSB.

Its because your using an ATI card.
PCmark, 3DMark ETC are not optimized for ATI cards.
Dont go and waste your money.

Well ya did see on the 3DMark that the GPU tests used Physx, so I think Im prob gonna throw my old 9600gt for physx to see if it performs better. And ya Im pretty sure Ill be opting for i5, Im an Intel fanboy lol. But this right here made me feel a little better lol

Welp. Over all, Im pretty dissapointed with my HD 5870. I upgraded from a 9800gtx+ and honestly, none of my games run any better, because my 9800gtx+ already runs everything perfectly. And in terms of new games like BF:BC2 and AVP, id save $300 just buying a second to SLI. I guess the 5870 is just a bench mark engine..

i5's are commonly used for very soft users.

i5s are expensive as hell. thats not soft. the boards are expensive, the cpus are expensive. if you want to go cheap get dem phenom doubles. mobos are about as cheap as an afganistan whore and the cpus are still just as fast as the i5s.
