Im using a gtx 680 and when i play Battlefield 3 my FPS is bumping all the time between 35 and 70 but a few months ago it would rarely go below 60.

as I mentioned earlier,
I find that the particular map you are playing in BF3 really decides what your FPS is going to be averaged at.
(some maps have better gpu utilisation than others in my case)
Are you sure you weren't playing in other expansions?
Nope i was playing TDM on noshahr canals and the FPS is bumpy as hell even on a 32 man server.
can you take a look at your GPU % usage? And also check if your CPU isnt busy with something else?
Perhaps we could find some anomalies.
Just downloaded hardware monitor ill start up BF3 right now and see how it goes.
Look's like the gpu core is hovering between 43 and 44 % the maximum was 71%
Do you have vsync on? what is the cpu usage?
Did you update drivers in between those moments?
Vsync is off the cpu showed core one at around 70 but i wasn't paying much attention to the rest ill do another test. I didn't update the drivers while playing.
OK. First, are you running Windows 7? If so, have you gotten the hot fixes for AMD FX chips? If not, here they are --> http://www.techpowerup.com/158534/new-windows-7-bulldozer-patches-available.html
I'm also wondering if you need to update your drivers? Also, that chip overclocks pretty well, please tell me you've got it at least at 4.4 or 4.5? :P Let me know if you need help with an OC.
Right now im running window's 8 and im not to sure what setting's to use to overclock it.
Any advice on overclocking?
Well it seems that the cpu is kind of bottlenecking, but thats not really weird. The weird thing is it seems to be bottlenecking a bit more than usual. Like its occupied with something?
I could be wrong. Its very hard to say without much data...
if you play at low do you get the same fps as on ultra?
If so thats a bug with bf3 that has not been fixed for ages and probably won't be.
