Lots of questions regarding an upgrade

Not long till now till I can get my 7970 Direct CU II so I've decieded that I'm going to treat myself and get a new case and an SSD.

Question 1.

I really like the look of the Xigmatec Talon but I was wondering if it would be big enough to house the 7970 Direct CU II? This might seem like a silly question but i know its a higher end card so i would assume its bigger than my 560ti Direct CU II that I currently have in my NZXT Phantom 410.

Question 2.

I currently have a Corsair 700W PSU will that be enough power for my i5 2500k (overclocked to I think 4.3GHz) Sabertooth P67 Rev B Motherboard, 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance RAM and the 7970 Direct CUII.

Question 3.

I have a 32gb Kingston SSD at the moment but im going to get myself a 240GB Kingston Hyper X 3K (unless anyone has a better suggestion?) but i also have a 2TB standard 7200RPM HDD is there anyway that I can combine these in RAID so that Windows, Certain Games (e.g Crysis 3, Farcry 3, Bioshock Infinite basically games that are more intensive/I want to get the best performance out of) & Programs like Adobe Creative Suite are stored on the SSD but I can save my files to the HDD?

Question 4.

(LAST ONE) I'm pretty sure if i want to put my Hard Drives in RAID i would have to do a clean install although I lost my Windows 7 Install CD a long time ago, i have no issue in buying a new one but should i get a Windows 8 CD?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Question 1.

about those cases, i think that gpu will fit without any problems in the Xigmatec, but i also think it will fit fine in the NZXT phantom 410.

Question 2:

a 700W psu is realy tight. but can do the job on stock speeds. a 7970 recommend at least a 600W psu for the whole system. i personaly prefer a 850W just to give you more room. wenn you gonne OC the cpu then its a must have.

Question 3.

the Kingston hyper X is a good ssd.i only think that you not able to put it in a raid config with a single 2 TB. causethe drive is much slower then the SSD, why would you use raid anyway?  install the games on the 2TB drive and install the maps on the SSD. and only install a few games that you play the most on the ssd it self. notice that an ssd in gaming does not effect the frame rates, it only effect faster loading times wenn you play games with big maps.

Question 4.

if you have a original product key of windows 7. download here a new iso. burn on dvd. and install it with youre original key.

grtz Angel ☺

that are my oppinions

Thanks, the new case is solely because i want a new case really.

What PSU would you recommend?

I'd want to combine my current 32gb SSD with the 240 Kingston Hyper X 3K and possibly with the 2tb just so it functions as 1 drive really

okay cool, i peronaly like the NZXT phantom case unfortunatly not for sail in the Netherlands poor me :(

i would recommend a 850W 80+ bronze psu, to keep it payable.

i found this one for 120 dollars on newegg, i know not the cheapest one but its a quality one.

about the ssd's you can put 2 ssd´s in raid 0 striping, then they would work together, theoreticly, but how thats gonne work practical with 2 diffrent SSD´s i cant tell you, sorry ☺

Andi think you not be able to combinate that with the 2 TB drive in Raid 5...

I wouldn't raid different sizes and speeds of SSDs and HDD... try using at least similar drives for it.
The PSU will be fine for your system, the Xigmatec case will be ok and the kingston Hyperx is reliable SSD.

You can move your windows install to another drive without doing any changes or loosing data, but I don't recommend it, most of the times doing this makes a lot of bugs appear. Just be sure you have your serial key and do a clean reinstall.

Id always use identical drives for raid, that way I never have a problem

i dont recommded it either, its better to  use 2 the same drivers in raid 0.

You don't need 850W. A 700W PSU is fine; if you want to upgrade to a fully modular one, then the Rosewil Capstone series and the Seasonic X 750 are great PSUs. The Seasonic is more expensive, but has a quality you can trust. Rosewill PSUs are getting absolutely fantastic, especially the Capsone modular series.

Also, I recommend the Samsung 840 Pro instead of the Hyper X 3K - the 840 Pro is faster! :)

If you can afford it raid 10 is the best imo

Okay so would you suggest I clean install windows 8 on the 240GB Kingston Hyper X 3K and also some of my games and just have the other drives seperate so the 2TB for large files and the 30gb SSD for project files for After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop etc for faster loading times.

Another question how would I move games I dont want off of the SSD? as I have a lot of games on Steam & Origin but they install into C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/steam/steamapps/common i think thats the path anyway but I could be wrong as thats just off the top of my head can I simply change the install directory when they are installing/downloading or do i have to use a work around?

If i could afford it i would but i have 3 drives all different sizes and speeds so for now not gonna happen lol
