Looking to purchase kvm, need clarification on some functionality

KVM Model:

Looking at the 2 pc 3 displayport kvm

USB Interface (5-gigabit or 10-gigbit):

5

Problem:

Would the monitors and peripherals appear to be connected to the inactive pc? I dont want the inactive pc to reconfigure itself constantly when it detects the monitors and peripherals are disconnected.

Thanks in advance!

Other Notes:

Using a normal desktop with two (maybe 3 in the future) gync compatible/freesync premium monitors where I normally have HDR and VRR active.

Second device is a work laptop connected through a dock. Currently with a cheap kvm its unpleasant to actively switch between these two devices.

@wendell what are the nuances of the USB ports? I know the HID ports are soft cutover and the blue USB 3.0 ports are hard cutover.

The monitors will disconnect. There’s a few solutions. In Windows 11 there’s a settings toggle “remember windows locartions” in windows 10 there’s a persistant windows github utility, we also have edid monitor emulation feeders that can be added to the cable chain for the windows to not move places.

@Level1_Amber thanks for the speedy reply. I did come across the post to retain windows locations with the github utility. But, was wondering if its possible to seamlessly switch between the two devices with the L1 kvms without having to wait for the devices to reconfigure to the multi monitor setup?

Hm… have you thought about a KM?
