Looking to build my "Console Killer," what do you guys think of this build?

Hey guys, going to build my first PC. Just wondering what you guys thought of my choices here:

My buddy is giving me a PSU so that's why it's $0.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Just as an FYI, I was trying to keep it all under $700. Thanks so much.

Your motherboard will explode and it's better to have a shit load of Ethernet cable.

Your motherboard will explode

That would not be pleasant. Is there an alternative I should consider?

Msi boards aren't too stable on the am3+ platform. I would get something like this instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a97ler20 or this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a78lmusb3

ive used that board and it was fine though i was using a phenom black 965 BE and it oc-ed to 4.2 ghz on an evo 212

Thanks so much. You guys are so damn helpful. If you don't mind me asking, what do you think about having an SSD in a build in this price range? Should I swap it out for a better GPU instead?

I would keep the SSD, depending of course, upon what sort of a resolution you play your games at. If it is at 1920x1080: any performance gained by a better GPU will be negligible in comparison to the increased performance in general by having an SSD.

I'd personally get rid of the SSD and see about putting the money into a better GPU, but that's just me.

Most sane people would look at the increased speed of windows, better boot times, transfer rates, etc that come with an SSD.

the m5a97 le is far more likely to die than the msi, if you can spring for the non le version that would be a solid choice

perhaps not far more likely as i see the msi has no voltage regulator heatsink either, never the less a m5a97 le isn't a good board
