Buy new 1440p secondry monitor, eagerly await delivery from Overclockers UK, delivery comes, looks amaszing, launch power dvd to watch blu ray.... "Powerdvd is not optimized for this resolution and will now quit"
fuuuuuuuuuck
Any ideas? alternative software that will run blurays at 1080p on a 1440p monitor?
The VLC player should do it I imagine. (Its free)

VLC doesn't play bluray unfortunately :/
try following this:
Play Blu-Ray with VLC in Windows 10/8 64-bit/32-bit
I just got it from a quick googling. It might require the purchase of licences as blueray is pretty closed by sony

I'm using powerdvd 14 and it works on 1440p just fine.
hmm that's strange
EDIT: Im on power dvd10 it seems :/
The newer versions go on sale all the time, you should be able to find it for cheap. Finding a free bluray playing software is impossible. I have had no issues with PDVD14 though, you should be fine too.

I use VLC to play my Bluerays. Then again, I don't just watch them off the disk, I rip them then watch the rip using VLC.

I will give it ago, I tried ages ago and it seemed to do nothing but maybe I did it wrong
In the options there is a tick box, not certain if it;s enabled by default, the version i've got installed is a bit out of date
As Radidtech said, Slysoft AnyDVD enables the bluray playback. I used to use it with CCCP / Media Player Classic. Didn't like vlc, washes out colors too much.
Now I just rip my blurays with MakeMKV.
