In OpenFirmware you can look at the current flag settings for your system and modify them as you see fit. In these options includes a “real time mode”. I have only ever seen it mentioned outside of tech manuals once, and it was in a G5 “showpiece” video.
I’m looking for that video and for the life of me I can’t find it. However the person had a G5 quad with 8GB ram, had it running in real time mode, had like a 660ti or something, the thing managed to do basically everything any other computer could do, but it was clear to me this guy had put a whackload of effort into the thing.
I wanna know what all that crap does. If anyone knows, HMU PLEASE.
