My PC is starting to show its age when I start to play more newer games that have came out this year and I'm looking to upgrade the PC.
I have everything I need like the Keyboard, mouse and monitors I'm just looking for suggestions for internal components like the CPU, Motherboard, Graphics card and RAM.
I live in the UK so everything would be in £'s if you are kind enough and I'm not fussy about where I get the parts from as long as I get a good deal. Thus my budget would be £600-£1000 I'd like to keep it as close to £600 as possible but if it would be better and more "Future proof" I'd be willing to lean more towards spending closer to £1000. But because I'm going to keep the HDD's and the Case and hopefully the PSU the price should hopefully be around £600 for a somewhat "Future proof" gaming PC.
I'm not looking for a PC that will play Crysis 4 at max settings on 3 4K monitors. Just something I can get away with playing newer games at med-high settings with 80FPS+
But I guess my first question would have to be: Would it be better to keep my same motherboard that has a 1155 socket and get a newer CPU with the 1155 socket or buy a new one with a 1150/2011 socket and get a new motherboard?
My PSU is a Corsair TX750 and I'd like to keep it because its running really well and hasn't gave me any problems over these last 2-3 years.
I'm looking for A CPU, GPU, RAM and a Motherboard.
What I've considered so far is:
GPU (Amazon Link)
CPU (Amazon Link)
Motherboard (Amazon Link)
I haven't the faintest idea whats really the best RAM. But I was thinking about buying more of the same RAM but its too old so it isn't worth it. But I'm still unsure if its better to stay with 8GB or get 16GB and which RAM to buy.
If anyone could give me a few suggestions it would be very helpful. Even if I feel like I know a lot about PC's the amount of parts on the market still confuses me and I can't really choose a single part over another.
First off, there is no such thing as "Future Proof." Now that that's out of the way, there is definitely an ability to upgrade for an inexpensive amount. What are you current specs and overall use for this machine (gaming only, gaming/streaming, gaming/video editing)? Once you clarify some of those questions, I think more people will be able to accurately advise you on the matter.
Oh ok! Thanks.
My current specs are:
i5-2500 @ 3.30GHz
Radeon HD 6970 2GB
Sorry but for the life of mr I cannot remember my model of my Motherboard but it is an Asus one.
I have 8GB of Kingstone hyper X? RAM
And the PSU is the Corsair TX750
Currently I am looking at gaming only. As i don't have the internet for streaming.
This will give you an I5 4690k with the ability to overclock on the Asus H97 board (You don't have to have the Z97 board to OC.) There's 16GB of RAM there, but that's overkill in my opinion just for gaming, but for video editing it can come in very handy. And I grabbed a GTX 770 that quite a bit shorter than the one you had listed, but it still has excellent cooling. Now, there's no color coordination going on here, but this is good for performance. If aesthetics are you thing, then you're probably going to spend a little bit more to get everything color coordinated.

Thank you very much for this! I'll take it into consideration and maybe change one or two things. My case is closed off so no-ones going to see inside so colour isn't an issue there.
But this have gave me something to base other parts off if I continue looking about.
Thanks a lot for the help because there is so many parts on the market its hard to choose!
I'd just stik with your current i5. it's plenty powerful for everything at the moment. If you're looking to upgrade your GPU, I'd wait for the GTX 800/R9 300 series cards, or if you need an upgrade now, an R9 290 would be a very good upgrade.
Stick with your i5 but get a r9 290 as your gpu it's wicked fast
