Hello I am looking for a video card for the new computer I just built a week or so ago (I don't like using hd 4000 graphics) anyway I was looking between the 200 to 300 dollar range. I really want a 700 series card but the AMD options do look enticing for the money I will be doing gaming and adobe stuff, it needs to be quiet if possible. thank you for reading this big mess as it is my first post.
Personally i would choose the Gigibyte 7970 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125413 ) or you could go with the asus dcu2 7950 any lower than that on the AMD side i would go with the 760 but it will not help you in adobe.
Wait for the new AMD card's to drop and see how they perform wont be long. But the 7970 is a amazing card.
i have had my eye on the 7870 devil from powercolor for $260

But newegg is having a sell on the 7950 from msi for only $210
Or if you spend $300 you can pick up the 7970 from ether sapphire or powercolor
you also get 2-3 games if you buy one
is it really worth the 100 dollar increase to go from 7950 to 7970?
Msi 7950 twinfrozer or HiS 7950 iceQ X2 and do a overclock on those cards, they are cheaper then a 7970, but with OC i performs equal to a 7970 ghz edition. notice a 7970ghz edition is also faster then a normal 7970..
The performance difference between the 7950 and the 7970 is negligible, when both cards are overclocked. Get the 7950 and save some money.
thank you Douglas Golembiewski i will be getting the gigabyte gtx760 v2 to match my motherboard and it looks sweet.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125466&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
